Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800.

For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

 

Dogs killed

Dogs killed May 21-22 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

“Pit bull,” blue and white male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/dog aggression (scored 3/4 on May 20), Ottawa Park, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

“Pit bull,” tan and white male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/body handling (scored 3/5 on May 20), Laskey Road, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

German shepherd mix, orange and black female, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (elderly, difficulty walking), surrendered by James Szymanski, Roywood Road, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” gray and white male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/body handling (scored 5/5 on May 21), Maple Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

“Pit bull,” orange and white female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/body handling (scored 3/5 on May 21), Evansdale Avenue, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

“Pit bull,” orange and white female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/dog aggression (scored 4/4 on May 21), Wenz Road, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

“Pit bull,” brindle female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/body handling (scored 3/5 on May 21), Prescott Street, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.
