Lucas County Dogs for Adoption: 5-29

Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800.

For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

 

Dogs killed

Dogs killed May 23-24 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

“Pit bull” mix, brindle and white female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/​dog aggression (scored 4/​4 on May 22), surrendered by Megan Sargent, Raleigh Drive, Toledo.

German shepherd mix, brown and black male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/​dog aggression (scored 4/​4 on May 22), surrendered by Olivia Lafine, Old Stone Court, Toledo.

“Pit bull” mix, black and orange female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/​food guarder (scored 4 out of 5 on May 22), North McCord Road, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

“Pit bull,” tan and white male, unlicensed, aggressive/​unsafe, Superior Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

German shepherd mix, black and tan female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/​dog aggression (scored 4/​4 on May 22), Delence Street, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

Soft-coated wheaten terrier mix, tan and white female, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/​quality of life (unable to use left leg, bilateral muscle atrophy in rear legs, old and chronic arthritis, severe pain, poor prognosis), Monroe Street, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

Miniature poodle, black female, picked up by a control officer from Brooke Park Drive after owner was hospitalized.

Alaskan husky mix, yellow female, East Broadway Street, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

“Pit bull,” white and gray female, Cecelia Avenue, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.
