Lucas County Dogs for Adoption: 7-22

Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control Office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800.

For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

 

Dogs killed

July 17-20 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

“Pit bull” mix, tan and white male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/ dog aggression (scored 3/ 4 on July 17), Macomber Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

“Pit bull” mix, black female, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/ quality of life (tested positive for highly contagious parvovirus, no transfer partner able to take), Overland Parkway, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

Labrador retriever/ Siberian husky mix, brown male, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (bite history), surrendered by Rebecca Mann, Taft Avenue, Oregon.

“Pit bull” mix, brindle and white female, unlicensed, attacked another dog at the shelter, Freedom Street, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

“Pit bull” mix, tan and black female, unlicensed, bite history, surrendered by Linda Randolph, Colburn Street, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” brindle and white male, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/ quality of life (unable to stand or walk, tested positive for highly contagious parvovirus, no transfer partner able to take), Erie Street, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.
