Dogs killed Aug. 10-11 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

“Pit bull,” brindle male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/body handling (scored 3 out of 5 on Aug. 9), Orchard Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

“Pit bull,” brindle and white male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/dog aggression (scored 4/4 on July 29), Arcadia Avenue, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

Great Dane, black and white male, unlicensed, bite history, surrendered by Jeffrey Smith, Midway Road, Whitehouse.

American bulldog, white male, unlicensed, fearful/unsafe, surrendered by Annie Heard, Marmion Avenue, Toledo.

English bulldog, brindle and white male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/dog aggression (scored 4/4 on Aug. 6), surrendered by Andrea Pfaffenberger, Capistrano Avenue, Toledo.

Chow chow, tan female, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (increasingly bloody urine despite treatment, increasingly painful abdomen, losing weight, strongly suspected mass or lesion in the bladder, poor prognosis), surrendered by Kathryn Redding, Monclova Road, Swanton.

Rottweiler, black and orange female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/resource guarder (scored 4/5 on Aug. 10), Freeman Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Two “pit bulls,” both black and white females, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (attacked and killed another dog in the home), surrendered by April Engard, Fleming Drive, Toledo.

Miniature poodle/Parson Russell terrier mix, black and white male, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (elderly, tumor), surrendered by Donald Cumby, North Byrne Road, Toledo.
