Dogs killed

Dogs killed Aug. 23-25 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

Beagle, black and orange male, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (elderly, had severe facial injuries after being attacked by another animal, sick), surrendered by Stanley Edwards, Pinewood Avenue, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” red and white female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/​resource guarder (scored 3 out of 5 on Aug. 20), Heatherdowns Boulevard, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Beagle, black and tan male, licensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/​quality of life (heartworm, no transfer partner able to take), surrendered by Eleazar Vega, Vandalia Street, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” gray and white female, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/​quality of life (demodectic mange), Upton Avenue, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

Labrador retriever, black and white male, unlicensed, fearful/​unsafe, surrendered by Myah Armstead-Ashford, Lincoln Avenue, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” brown and white male, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/​quality of life (severely infected head wound, worsening condition despite treatment, unable to stand or eat), Bronson Avenue, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Boxer mix, tan and white male, surrendered by Laura Romans, North Michigan Street, Toledo.

 

Dogs transferred

Dogs transferred Aug. 25 to Planned Pethood and the Toledo Area Humane Society under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Litter of four Labrador retriever puppies, two tan and white males, two tan and white females, Chase Street, Toledo, strays brought to the shelter.
