East Toledo

A Fourth of July celebration will be held from 4 p.m. to midnight July 4 at the VFW Post 2510, 617 2nd St. The public is invited to enjoy games, music, raffles, a dunk tank, and to watch the downtown Toledo fireworks from the parking lot. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share.

The Waite High School Class of 1989 will hold its 20 year class reunion Sept. 18 and 19. The reunion begins Sept. 18 at the Waite-Clay football game. A dinner dance will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight Sept. 19 at the Hilton Garden Inn at Levis Commons in Perrysburg. Tickets are $50 per person. All East Toledo residents of the Raymer and neighboring areas are invited to the Block Watch 422A meeting at 6 p.m. July 9 at Memorial United Church of Christ, 1301 Starr Ave. Parking is available in the lot next to the church, near White street. Meetings take place on the second Thursday of the month through fall at the above time and location.

Millbury

Oregon

The 16th annual Starr Spangled 5K Run takes place at 8 a.m. July 4 at Starr School, 3230 Starr Ave. Registration begins at 7 a.m. An online entry form can be found at toledoroadrunners.org. Information: 419-693-4058.

The Silver and Gold Club, sponsored by the Hoeflinger-Bolander Funeral Home, is hosting a day trip to Detroit July 15 from the funeral home, 3500 Navarre Ave. The cost is $55 a senior and includes a Detroit Princess Riverboat Cruise, an all-you-can eat lunch, a visit to Greektown Casino, and time to explore. Boarding on the luxury motor coach starts at 8:30 a.m. Bus departs at 8:45 a.m. Return boarding starts at 5 p.m. The bus returns to the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. No cash refunds will be given. Rossford

All Saints Catholic Church will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., July 9; 9 a.m.-5 p.m., July 10, and 9 a.m.-1 p.m., July 11 at the church, 628 Lime City Rd. July 11 is bag day. Lunch July 9 and 10.

Walbridge

St. Jerome s Church Festival will be held July 10-12 on the church grounds, 300 Warner St. Hours will be 5-midnight July 10, with music by the Rake Shakers. A pulled-pork platter is $8. July 11 hours are 5 p.m. to midnight with music by Haywire. Chicken paprikas dinners are $10. July 12 hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. with music by Rocken Ron s DJ. Barbecue chicken dinner is $10.

Toledo

Toledo historical and architectural cruises on the Maumee River aboard the Sandpiper boat are presented by the Maumee Valley Heritage Corridor. The two-hour cruises take place from 1-3 p.m. Sept. 6 and from 8-10 p.m. Aug. 10. Local historian Fred Folger tells stories and points out sights. Cost is $18; or $15 for a member of any historical organization in the Maumee Valley. Reservations: 419-537-1212.
