NBRS derby12p The Blade/Lisa Dutton 1/6/2010 Maumee.OH Spencer Gray of Maumee,OH sands his Pinewwod Derby car at the clinic. Please get several shots during a Pinewood Derby clinic for Cub Scouts at all three general stores operated by The Andersons which invites all scouts to get their cars ready to race during the woodworking clinic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 8. Scouts can bring their car kit and design to the hardware departments where professional woodworkers will cut their cars out for them and The Andersons will provide a scout-friendly sanding and finishing station. Area scout troops provide Pinewood Derby cars to their scouyts. The derby has been a part of scouting tradition since 1953.

Spencer Gray of Maumee sands a car at the Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts at The Andersons in Maumee. Scouts were invited to take part in woodworking clinics Saturday at the three Andersons general stores. Woodworkers cut the Scouts' cars and set up youth-friendly sanding and finishing stations.
