FREMONT -- The Ottawa Sandusky Seneca County Joint Solid Waste Management District is to hold its Farm Tire Recycling Collection late this month at the Sandusky County Fairgrounds, 901 Rawson Ave., in the north parking lot.

Registration is required. The collection is open to district residents, including all Fostoria and Bellevue residents, who own or operate farm equipment. Dealers and agribusinesses are not permitted.

To register, call the district’s main office at 419-334-7222 or toll free at 888-850-7224. Callers must know the tire types and sizes they want to recycle. Upon calling, you will be provided with the date and time for dropping off the tires and given a service fee.

Tires up to 36 inches in diameter are $1 each. Those 37 to 60 inches are $10 a tire, and 61 inches and larger are $15. Tires on the rim are acceptable.

Participants must bring proof of residency, such as a driver’s license, to the site.
