An East Toledo man was convicted Thursday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court of setting fire to his Utah Street house last year.

Timothy Dycus, 44, of 230 Utah St. entered Alford pleas to two counts of attempted aggravated arson for the Nov. 8 fire, which damaged two neighboring houses as well as his own.

In an Alford plea, a defendant does not admit guilt but agrees that there is sufficient evidence for a conviction.

Judge Ruth Ann Franks found Dycus guilty and told him he could face as as many as six years in prison when he is sentenced June 3.
