CLYDE - Whirlpool Corp. is to receive a $250,000 state business development grant to buy and install machinery used in its Clyde clothes dryer plant.
The grant, issued this week, is part of the company's plan for a $45.6 million expansion of the factory and to retain 2,000 jobs. The city also is providing a $250,000 grant to improve the roads near the plant's entrance.
