COLUMBUS — Ohio’s unemployment rate was unchanged in March but still is below the national average.

The Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services said Friday that the rate for March was 7.1 percent — unchanged from the revised February rate and up slightly from 7 percent in January. February's rate was listed at 7 percent when it was first announced last month.

The state’s leaders have said Ohio’s economy and its job market are getting stronger, though the process is slow.

The national unemployment rate was 7.6 percent in March.
