Construction employment in Toledo fell 5 percent from June, 2012, to June, 2013, according to the Associated General Contractors of America.

The group said 12,500 people were employed in construction, mining, and logging in the Toledo area last month. That is 700 fewer than a year earlier.

The AGC said construction employment increased in 191 of 339 metropolitan areas, declined in 97, and was flat in 51.

Construction employment in Monroe also was down 5 percent, the AGC said. It was down 1 percent in Ohio and up 1 percent in Michigan.
