ACHIEVEMENTS

■ The Douglas Co., a general contractor specializing in senior care and multifamily construction, has named Gayle Ashbridge its director of people development. The company has offices in Holland and in Orlando, Fla.

■ Julie McKitrick has been named executive director of Lutheran Village of Wolf Creek, a retirement community at 2001 Perrysburg-Holland Rd. in Holland. She was most recently an administrator with Trilogy Health Services.

■ Mike Thiel, food safety manager for Kroger Co., will talk about the grocery chain’s sustainability strategy at the Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum at 8 a.m. Feb. 20. The program, hosted by the Center for Innovative Food Technology, takes place at the Agricultural Incubator Foundation, 13737 Middleton Pike, Bowling Green. Cost: $10, including breakfast. ■ The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library will hold its next “Ask a Patent Attorney” event from 7-8:30 p.m. March 4 at the downtown library. Attorneys will provide an overview of intellectual property, explain the differences between patents, trademarks, and copyright, and answer questions. The public program is free.
