ACHIEVEMENTS

■ Carl Miller has been hired as general manager of Toledo Country Club. He has more than 17 years experience in the private club and hospitality-related industries, most recently with Blythefield Country Club near Grand Rapids, Mich.

■ James L. Rohrs has been named chairman of the Community Bankers Association of Ohio. He is president and CEO of First Federal Bank in Defiance. The association offers products, tools, and educational programs to help community banks grow and succeed.

■ Michael C. Gibbons has been elected chairman of the board for the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, the philanthropic foundation of the National Restaurant Association. He is president and CEO of Ann Arbor-based Mainstreet Ventures Inc., which operates 16 distinctive restaurants in five states, including Real Seafood, Zia’s, Revolution Grille, and Ciao! in the Toledo area.

■ Make-A-Wish has named Doug Kelly as president and chief executive officer of the Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana chapter of Make-A-Wish, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. Mr. Kelly was formerly with Big Change Strategies, which he co-founded.
