ACHIEVEMENTS

■ Martin E. Mohler will begin his term as president of the Ohio State Bar Association on Tuesday. He is a partner in the Toledo firm of Shindler, Neff, Holmes, Worline and Mohler LLP. He is a 1973 graduate of the University of Toledo College of Law.

■ Joseph Tafelski will be installed Monday as the 2014-15 president of the Rotary Club of Toledo. Mr. Tafelski, an attorney, has been executive director of Advocates for Basic Legal Equality Inc., or ABLE, a nonprofit law firm providing free legal services to low-income people since 1980.

■ Geoffrey G. Meyers has been appointed to the board of directors of Health Care REIT. From 1998 until his retirement in 2006, Mr. Meyers was chief financial officer for HCR Manor Care Inc., where he was also executive vice president and treasurer. Before that, he was chief financial officer of the health-care division of Owens-Illinois Inc.
