City schools foundation offers grants

3/20/2003

The Toledo Public Schools Foundation is inviting teachers, administrators, principals, students, schools, and organizations in the district to apply for grants of $500 or $1,000.

Grant applications received by 1 p.m. March 28 will be reviewed by the foundation's grants committee in early April. The grant awards will be announced April 30 at the foundation's annual meeting.

Priority will be given to grant proposals that address the foundation's three purposes: to support creative and innovative projects developed by classroom teachers to stimulate student excellence; to recruit, retain, develop, and support a world-class faculty, and to provide scholarships to outstanding students to create the community leaders of tomorrow.

This will be the foundation's third round of grants, and it expects to award up to $10,000.

Applications are available at the principal's office of any elementary or secondary school. They should be returned to the foundation in care of Executive Director Susan K. Zurawski, 420 East Manhattan Blvd., Room 110, Toledo, 43608. Those interested in applying may call Ms. Zurawski at 419-535-6568.
