BGSU chief buys condominium

BOWLING GREEN - Bowling Green State University President Sidney Ribeau has purchased the condominium where he has been living for over a year while the university decides whether to renovate or rebuild its presidential home.

Dr. Ribeau purchased 148 Larchwood Drive from Jo Ann Trott for $355,000 on March 11. Previously, BGSU had paid $2,630 a month for Dr. Ribeau to live there. Now, the university will give him a $2,750 per month housing allowance, said Kim McBroom, associate vice president for marketing and communications.

Also, BGSU bought the house at 830 East Wooster St. for use as temporary housing for new faculty and staff. BGSU bought the home for $169,900.
