Port Clinton board OKs 3-year pact with teachers

5/13/2004

PORT CLINTON - The Port Clinton school board has approved a three-year contract with the district's teachers.

The new pact, which takes effect July 1, includes raises of 2.75 percent this year, 2.8 percent in 2005, and 2.95 percent in 2006, district treasurer Paul Lockwood said. The school board ratified the agreement at a meeting Tuesday night.

The raises were agreed to less than a year after the teachers, represented by the Port Clinton Federation of Teachers, accepted a wage freeze for the current school year. The union represents 150 teachers, Mr. Lockwood said.
