Students in Bowling Green State University's College of Arts and Sciences who have received scholarships of $500 or more from the college this year are listed below.

Holland: A $2,000 psychology undergraduate research assistantship went to Fay Coleman, a sophomore majoring in psychology. She graduated from St. Ursula Academy in 2002.

Maumee: Brittany Barhite, a 2001 graduate of Springfield High School, received a $500 Cliff and Lyn Long sholarship. She is a junior in telecommunications.

James Robert and Gretchen Overman undergraduate scholarships of $2,300 went to physics majors Carl Fayerweather, a senior, and Adam Lark, a junior. Both are graduates of Maumee High School.

Sylvania: Eileen Sawyer received the $1,650 Lubrizol scholarship. A senior in environmental science, Ms. Sawyer graduated from BGSU in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Toledo: John Donatelli was awarded a $1,000 Greene Family pre-medical scholarship and a $500 Ralph V. McKinney, Jr.,-Eloise Whitwer scholarship. The junior biology-premed major graduated from Springfield High School in 2002. The $500 Gordon McQueston scholarship went to Tasa Seibert, a junior in biochemistry. Lauren Stevens, a junior art major, received the $500 Charles Lakofsky scholarship. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 2001.

Waterville: Molly Farner received a Janet M. Shanklin Memorial scholarship of $3,000. The 2002 graduate of Anthony Wayne High School is a junior in international studies. A $1,000 Charles Alden Barrell scholarship went to Karen Kuns, a junior in political science and a 2001 graduate of Anthony Wayne High School.

Elmore: Rhiannon Kroeger won the $500 Dr. Aida K. Tomeh Memorial award. She graduated summa cum laude this month from BGSU with a bachelor's in sociology and is a 2000 graduate of Woodmore High School.

Bowling Green: The $600 Nordmann award went to Ben Day, a junior in interpersonal communication and a 2001 graduate of Bowling Green High School.

Matt Fried received a Grover Platt Memorial scholarship of $600. The 1999 graduate of Central Catholic High School is a senior majoring in history.

Grand Rapids: Mark Limes, a junior in physics and mathematics, received a $2,300 James Robert and Gretchen Overman undergraduate scholarship. He graduated from Otsego High School in 2001.

Perrysburg: Sarah Bradley, a 2002 graduate of Perrysburg High School, received the $500 Jo Enger Arthur scholarship for study abroad. She is a junior studying history and French. A $550 Dr. Suzanne K. Miller undergraduate research assistantship went to Christopher Drummond, a sophomore in biology-pre-medicine. Mr. Drummond graduated from Perrysburg High School in 2002. Jae Kennedy-Cookson, a senior in biology-pre-medicine, received an Albert P. Bradie pre-med scholarship worth $2,000. She earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Case Western Reserve University in 1994. Jeremy Plunkett, a 2001 graduate of Perrysburg High School, received the Thomas Hilty drawing-painting scholarship award, worth $650. He is a junior majoring in art (two-dimensional studies). Alexis Waggoner received the Reyman Memorial scholarship, worth $500. He graduated summa cum laude in May with a bachelor's degree in biology. He is a 2000 graduate of Perrysburg High School.

Walbridge: Gessie Zunk, a sophomore in pre-physical therapy, received the CRC Press freshman chemistry achievement award. She is a 2002 graduate of Lake High School.

Johnson Controls Foundation scholarships of $8,000 have been awarded to Northview High School graduate David Wernert and Cardinal Stritch High School graduate Meredith Tong.

The students' fathers, Michael Wernert and Keith Tong, are employees at Johnson Controls.

David plans to study business at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

Meredith plans to major in biology at Hillsdale College, Michigan.

The scholarships are based on academics, leadership, and civic achievements.

Andrew Brusoe of Toledo, a graduate of St. John's Jesuit High School, has received an Albion College presidential scholarship of $11,500. Brian Champine of Lambertville, a Bedford High School graduate, received a $10,500 Albion College Webster scholarship.

The Michigan college awards scholarships based on national test scores and high school grade-point average.

Lloyd Conner III and Matthew Thompson, graduating seniors at Monroe High School, have each received 2004 AFL-CIO Family scholarships of $500.

Lloyd will attend Ferris State College or Wayne State College; Matthew plans to study architecture at Lawrence Technological University.
