Student of the Week: Dan McGlynn

Dan McGlynn, a senior from Perrysburg, plans to attend the University of Notre Dame, majoring in political science and continuing on to law school. He enjoys history, psychology, English, government and French and carries a 4.6 grade point average.

Dan is a 2004 City League scholar athlete; member of the 2004 City League All-Academic team; scholar athlete of the week for his school; National Merit Commended Scholar; Insignis Society member and recipient of summa cum laude honors.

He plays football, basketball and baseball and is a member of the euchre and ping pong clubs. He belongs to the spiritual commission and National Honor Society, and is an altar server and lector. He is president Youth in Philanthropy Encouraging Excellence, and has been involved in several charitable events.

"I cannot praise Dan enough," said advanced placement language/composition teacher Judith Siferd. "He is the most intellectually superior student I have ever taught and the joy he exudes when sharing the discoveries with others is contagious. He is conscientious, diligent and filled with integrity."

Daniel is the son of Dan and Denise McGlynn.
