Student of the Week: Amanda Fritch

3/23/2005

Amanda Fritch, a senior from Swanton, plans to attend either Miami University or Bowling Green State University, studying pre-medicine. Her career goal is to be a pediatrician or physician assistant. She carries a 3.9 grade point average and enjoys Spanish, anatomy and physiology.

Amanda has received high honors for the last four years; lettered in varsity softball and junior varsity volleyball, basketball and softball; and is on the National Honor Roll.

She is a member of student council; participated in DECA, or Delta Epsilon Chi, a national association for students and teachers of marketing, management and business; and is a HOSTS mentor and former member of the show choir.

She has volunteered for the blood mobile, helped raise $2,000 for the American Cancer Society, and participates in the Relay for Life and Pennies for Patients.

"Amanda is an all-around good student," said teacher Frank Kohlhofer. "I have had the pleasure of having her in both DECA class and softball. On the field she was a leader who kept her team spirit up even through the bad games. In class, Mandy is very organized and always prepared."

She is the daughter of Gary and Mary Jo Fritch.
