For her word-processing abilities, 17-year-old Luisa Anaya of Toledo will be competing in a national-level business skills competition at the Business Professionals of America 2005 National Leadership Conference, "Strike it Rich," in Anaheim, Calif., beginning tomorrow.
The Waite High School senior placed first in Fundamental Word Processing in the regional competition in January, and placed fourth at the state level in March.
Alexander Curavo beat out more than 3,200 students throughout the state to be named one of the five finalists to represent Ohio in the AAA Travel High School Challenge.
The Lake High School junior was a finalist in a national competition that aims to increase teenagers' travel knowledge and geographic literacy while creating travel and tourism career awareness.
