Student of the Week: Scott Nietz

Scott Nietz, a senior from Toledo, plans to attend the University of Toledo, majoring in accounting. His favorite subjects are accounting and advanced placement calculus and he carries a 3.8 grade point average.

Scott achieved First Team Division 4 All-District 7 and First Team All-Toledo Area Athletic Conference in basketball, Second Team All-TAAC in golf, is District and TAAC All-Academic, and was recognized as a 1,000-point scorer. He plays varsity basketball, baseball, and golf and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Scott volunteers every semester at the Little Sisters of the Poor, attends youth group at Main Street Church in Walbridge, and is a middle school math tutor.

"Scott is an excellent example of a well-rounded student," said yearbook advisor Renee Mungons. "It is not often that you have a student who is a high academic achiever, successful athlete, and contributing member of the yearbook staff."

Scott is the son of Denis and Ruth Nietz.
