Student of the Week: Adam Thomas

Adam Thomas, a senior from Grand Rapids, plans to pursue a degree in humanities or general studies and eventually earn a law degree. His favorite subjects are history, English, math, and science, and he carries a 4.0 grade-point average.

Adam is recipient of the Louis Armstrong Jazz award for his outstanding achievements in jazz band and piano, and the Ag Credit 110 Percent award for his involvement in FFA. He is a 2005 American Legion Boys' Nation delegate and a 2005 National Merit semifinalist. He is second team All-SLL in football and took first place at the state 4-H 2005 livestock judging contest.

Adam is a member of the varsity football, wrestling, and track teams; concert band, chorale, swing choir, jazz band, Knight Musik, student council, the Otsego student advisory team, and National Honor Society.

"Adam is one of the most gifted, intelligent, respectful, moral, responsible, and talented students that I have ever had the fortunate opportunity to work with," said principal David Drewyor. "He has managed to balance academic, extracurriculars, and service to his community during all four years at Otsego High School."

Adam is the son of Charles and Amy Thomas.
