Ohio Northern's endowment exceeds UT, BGSU

1/25/2007

With a $149.3 million endowment that grew by 9.2 percent last year, Ohio Northern University in Ada outranks public counterparts such as the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University, according to a survey released yesterday by the Chronicle of Higher Education.

The UT Foundation endowment increased by 8 percent to $137.9 million, just ahead of BGSU, whose $124 million endowment increased by 9 percent.

All three institutions were several zeroes away from the top in the ranking of 765 schools, which Harvard University led with a $28.9 billion endowment.

And while Ohio State University can take pride in its recent football victories against the University of Michigan, the Wolverines' endowment demolished the Buckeyes, $5.6 billion to $1.9 billion.
