Stritch, Calvert repeat as top Catholic schools

10/18/2007

Two northwest Ohio Catholic high schools have been designated as among the top 50 Catholic high schools in the United States - both for the second consecutive year.

Cardinal Stritch in Oregon and Calvert in Tiffin were named to the 2007 Catholic High School Honor Roll's Top 50 list. Both schools also were recognized for being in the top 25 nationally in the area of Catholic identity.

Toledo's St. John's Jesuit High School was recognized by the group for academics.

The honor roll is an independent project of the Acton Institute, an international research and educational organization based in Grand Rapids, Mich. It was produced in consultation with a national advisory board composed of Catholic college presidents and noted Catholic scholars.

Its purpose is to recognize and encourage excellence in Catholic education.
