Bettsville schools receive 20 new computers

BETTSVILLE, Ohio Bettsville Local Schools got a $13,000 boost to their computer lab yesterday.

Connect Ohio, a public-private partnership dedicated to accelerating technology in the state, presented 20 new computers to the Seneca County school district as well as new computers to five Bettsville High School students who are active in community and school activities.

David Sweet, a spokesman for Connect Ohio, said Verizon also donated broadband internet service to the five students for a year.

He said the computers, which are the first to be awardedunder a pilot program developed by Connect Ohio, will enable the tiny Bettsville district to have a full computer classfor the first time in severalyears.
