HILLSDALE, Mich. — Former Reagan administration Attorney General Edwin Meese will speak to graduating Hillsdale College students at the Michigan school's May 8 commencement.
The college announced the appearance Monday.
Meese heads the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank in Washington.
Meese served as chief of staff to then-California Gov. Ronald Reagan in 1969-74 and helped lead his 1980 presidential campaign. He was counselor to then-President Reagan in 1981-85 and attorney general in 1985-88.
The 78-year-old Oakland, Calif., native lives in McLean, Va.
Hillsdale College was founded in 1844 and has about 1,300 students. It's in Hillsdale, about 85 miles west-southwest of Detroit.
