Grand Rapids Elementary closes Tuesday

Grand Rapids Elementary School will be closed Tuesday because of water and sewer problems, Otsego Local Schools Superintendent Jim Garber said Monday night.

All other schools in the Otsego district will operate on a normal schedule, he said.

Mr. Garber said a sewer pipe broke Monday and that officials expected to have it fixed sometime Tuesday.

The elementary, located at 17595 Bridge St., is one of the three Otsego grade schools to be closed to cut costs after the district builds one new larger elementary school to replace them.
