Ohio Northern University names dean of law school

ADA, Ohio — Ohio Northern University’s Pettit college of law has a new dean.

The private, Ada-based university announced that Richard Bales, the director of the Chase Center for Excellence in Advocacy at Northern Kentucky University’s law school, is the new dean.

Ohio Northern’s previous law dean, David Crago, was promoted last year to provost and vice president of academic affairs. Stephen Veltri had been working as interim dean and will continue to teach.

A university representative would not release Mr. Bales’ salary information. Mr. Bales will go to Jakarta, Indonesia, in May as a Fulbright senior specialist before he starts his new position, according to a press release.
