The Monroe County Intermediate School District Board of Education is looking to fill three openings. Two are for six-year terms running from July 1, 2013, to June 30, 2019. The third is the unexpired term of a retired board member that ends June 30, 2015.

Interested applicants must be registered voters and live in one of the following school districts: Bedford, Mason, Whiteford, Summerfield, Ida, Dundee, Airport, or Jefferson. They also must submit petitions signed by 40 to 100 registered voters in Monroe County. Candidates also may opt to submit a $100 filing fee by certified check or money order to the Monroe County Clerk’s office in lieu of the petition signatures. Proof of identity also must be furnished.

Filing materials are available at the county clerk’s office, 106 E. Front St., in Monroe. Completed forms must be returned by 4 p.m. May 6.

The ISD also has opened its enrollment period for its 2013-14 Schools of Choice program, which allows students the choice of enrolling in any of the ISD’s nine constituent districts. Applications are available on the Web sites of the districts and ISD. The deadline for applying is June 28.
