Fassett needs volunteers for 8th grade send-off

Fassett Middle School needs adult volunteers to help with its Eighth Grade Send-off, which is to be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday. The event this year will have a Mardi Gras theme. School officials hope parents, grandparents, teachers, and coaches will help.

Donations of food and gift cards also are needed. Food recommendations include meatballs, tacos, cheese and crackers, nacho dips, desserts, and pizza.

This year’s farewell to the eighth graders will have a special poignance, as Fassett next year will become the Oregon district’s junior high under a planned grade reconfiguration.
