Board to spend $19,169 for backup generator
5/28/2013The board of education has authorized spending $19,169 for a backup generator to protect information technology equipment during power failures. The gas-fired Cummins Bridgeway unit will be installed at Clay High School.
The board also accepted the equivalent of a $900 gift from Toledo Refining Co. LLC. The company covered the cost of having the Toledo Opera perform at two assemblies at Starr Elementary School.
The board also accepted a donation valued at about $2,000 from CJS Sound, which provided equipment and five hours of time for the Electronics Rock show.
The event was a fund-raiser for electronic technologies students who participate in Skills USA. CJS Sound is owned by Chris Bitter, who was in the Clay High School electronics program and wanted to give back to the program and community.
