FREMONT — Fremont City Schools soon will have its first school resource officer, hired through a one-year contract with the city police department.
The school budgeted $65,000 for the position. Superintendent Traci McCaudy said the school will use casino tax funding to pay for the position.
The officer will work at the district’s middle and high school campus. The position was posted Tuesday, and officials will consider patrol officers with at least five years’ experience.
