The Southview High School Marching Band and Choir will host a blood drive and fund-raising event today.

The “Bleed for the Band” blood donation drive supports the American Red Cross and the marching band. It begins at noon and runs to 6 p.m at Southview High School Auxiliary Gym, 7225 Sylvania Ave. Those interested in donating blood can schedule an appointment by visiting redcrossblood.org and entering Southviewband or call 419-824-8740.

Residents also may receive a call from the high school’s choir participants offering items for purchase. The sales will benefit the students’ performance supplies, choral activities, and transportation to events. The project begins today. Phone calls will be made between 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, for the next three weeks. The students will be offering pizza, gourmet coffee sampler, chocolate chunk cookie dough, roasted nuts, and environmentally friendly kitchen trash bags. All items will be delivered to the customer’s home for free. For more information call 419-824-8580.
