Lucas Co. deputy sheriff to be keynote speaker

Lucas County Deputy Sheriff Lucas Gonzalez will be the keynote speaker today at Tiffin University’s National Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, which kicks off at 6 p.m. at the Osceola Theater in the Gillmor Student Center. It is free to the public.

Mr. Gonzalez will talk about the contributions Hispanics have made in America and careers in the criminal justice field. He is a 1991 graduate of the University of Toledo, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in human resources.

He received an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Terra Community College in Fremont, and currently serves as the president of the Ohio chapter of the National Latino Police Officer’s Association.
