Scott High’s Centennial Celebration begins today

Scott High School’s Centennial Celebration kicks off today, and events are planned throughout the weekend.

A recognition of the school’s past Homecoming kings and queens will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Scott Field House, 2400 Collingwood Blvd. There is a meet-and-greet at 4 p.m. for graduates of classes in the 1950s and 1960s at Ye Olde Durty Bird, 2 S. St. Clair St., and a class of 1954 Reunion Dinner starting at 6 p.m. at Tony Packo’s, 7 South Superior St. A social for members of the 1970s and 1980s classes starts at 6 p.m. at Our Brothers Place, 233 N. Huron St.

A parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Scott, with the school’s football team playing at 3 p.m. at Start High School, 2100 Tremainsville Rd. The Centennial Program, which includes a dinner and dance and requires a reservation, begins at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail hour at the Seagate Centre, 401 Jefferson Ave.

On Sunday, the school will hold an open house, with tours of the building between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
