Safe Routes to School, a national and state effort to promote safe transportation to school, seeks volunteers.

Ohio’s campaign, which aims to reduce injuries to children en route to and from school and to promote wellness by encouraging people to walk and bike, needs volunteers to help coordinate the program’s wellness portion.

It promotes walking safely to school with an adult leader, learning initiatives about safely walking and biking to school, International Walk to School Day, and parking-lot safety for walkers and bikers. Parents, caregivers, and family members are encouraged to be a participate. For information about the program or to volunteer, contact Amanda Brodbeck at Amanda.brodbeck@promedica.org.
