The district plans a spaghetti dinner fund-raiser Feb. 2 for Emalin Harader and her family to help pay for expenses associated with the 2-year-old’s need for a multivisceral transplant. The dinner will start at 11:30 a.m. in the elementary school cafeteria, with donations collected at the door. There also will be a bake sale in the cafeteria lobby.

Emalin, the sister of Woodmore second grader Josiah Harader, has Beckwith-Weidemann syndrome, a congenital overgrowth disorder that often includes problems with abdominal-wall defects or gigantism, and also places its victims at greater risk for childhood cancer.
