Toledo Public Schools on Friday announced schedule changes to the school calendar necessitated by earlier weather-related school closings.

Previously scheduled districtwide waiver days and delayed starts have been canceled for the remainder of the school year. Students are expected to attend school for a full day Wednesday as well as on March 26, April 9, and May 14, according to school officials.

A delayed start March 21 will still take place for elementary students. High school students will follow regular schedules.

All TPS families were to receive an automated call and a letter from the district about the changes.

District officials were finalizing plans to allow students to make up lost instructional time with additional assignments outside of school.

The number of school days TPS must make up will depend on whether state lawmakers approve a bill granting school districts four additional calamity days this year.

As of Friday, Toledo schools have been closed 11 days this winter.
