Findlay City School hires new superintendent

FINDLAY — Findlay City Schools has a new leader.

The board of education last week unanimously voted to hire Edward Kurt, superintendent of the Margaretta Local School District in Castalia, as its superintendent. He’s served at the Margaretta post since 2002, and was assistant principal at Perkins High School near Sandusky.

The three-year Findlay contract has a salary of $138,000 a year. He replaces Findlay Superintendent Dean Wittwer, who is retiring after nine years. Mr. Kurt starts the new job Aug. 1.
