Sylvania residents are invited to a Celebration of Our Schools, the inaugural event kicking off the Sylvania school district’s levy campaign. Hosted by the Committee for Sylvania’s Future, the festivities will highlight school and student achievements.

Mayor Craig Stough and Sylvania Township trustees are scheduled to speak.

The school district is placing a 3.8-mill operating levy on the ballot May 6. The school’s budget forecasts show a $1.4 million deficit in 2016.

The pep-rally-style celebration begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Northview High School gym, 5403 Silica Dr.

Several Sylvania restaurants and eateries will contribute a portion of dinner proceeds that evening to the Committee for Sylvania’s Future. For more information visit sylvania.k12.oh.us.
