Monroe school to get heating, parking upgrades

The biggest project slated for the district’s buildings this summer is a major upgrade of the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning at Arborwood South Elementary School. The work, at a cost of $1.3 million, involves replacing the steam heating units, which are original equipment installed in 1952. Adrian Mechanical Services was the low bidder.

Reconstruction of the high school parking lot, which began last summer, will continue, with drainage improvements, new curbs, and curbed islands. The main lot will get 67 new parking spaces, bringing the total added over two years to 131. The work is to be competed by Aug. 22.
