A group of Rogers High School seniors will not graduate Thursday with their peers because they altered their grades on the school’s computer system, Toledo Public Schools officials said.

About a month ago, 11 Rogers students gained access to an administrators’ password to the system. The students were taking credit-recovery courses, meaning they had failed the course in the past and were using an online program to make up the missed credits, TPS Chief of Staff Brian Murphy said.

The students were failing the course, but changed their grades to show they had passed. The district will not let the students graduate or participate in Thursday’s ceremony. Students can make up the courses in the summer in order to graduate, Mr. Murphy said.
