The Bedford Public Schools’‍ unsuccessful $70.35 million request for facilities improvements has given birth to a political action committee, Citizens for Fiscal Responsibility, which has registered with the Monroe County Clerk.

The PAC’s mission is “to ensure that public officials are good stewards of taxpayers’‍ money,” according to a release issued by the group’s chairman, Steve Lennex, its treasurer, Mike Jacobs, and secretary, Scott Ruez.

The 30-year, 4.37-mill levy request was defeated in a landslide vote on May 6. The group’‍s email address is benjaminfranklin889@yahoo.com.
