University of Toledo students Steven Hoody, John Booth, Caitlin Shawaker, Jennifer Rank, and Katie Lehnert, from left, sail the raft they made from recy-clable materials as an art project on the Maumee River just north of the Maumee River Yacht Club. The raft, which operates without mechanical power, was a project assigned by UT art instructor Arturo Rodriguez, who loves fishing and boating and hoped to impart interest in the river’s ecology to his students.
