Efficient showerheads 
to be given away in area

Columbia Gas of Ohio Inc., The Andersons Inc., and Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority’s BetterBuildings program will distribute 3,000 free water-saving showerheads next week to help local Columbia Gas customers conserve water.

The free showerheads, which will be distributed to Columbia Gas customers only, will be given away Thursday at The Andersons general store at 4701 Talmadge Rd. in Toledo, and next Friday at The Andersons general store at 530 Illinois Ave. in Maumee.

The giveaways of the showerheads, which use up to 40 percent less water than traditional “low flow” showerheads and can save betweeen 1,800 and 3,600 gallons of water annually, will begin at 10 a.m. and last until 6 p.m. or until supplies are exhausted. Recipients will be asked to provide their name and address to verify that they are Columbia Gas customers.
