Screening Mammogram Clinic

Description: Free screening mammograms are available for individuals between the ages of 40 – 60 who have no insurance, high insurance deductibles and have not had a mammogram within the last 24 months. Individuals may also be eligible, regardless of age, if they have had breast cancer in the past, had an immediate family member with breast cancer or have a breast abnormality (male or female). To schedule an appointment, call 419-333-2036. The ProMedica Cancer Institute Mammogram Clinic is provided through a grant from the Northwest Ohio Affiliate of Susan G. Komen.

Description: The #SomebodySomewhere Foundation along with support from WJZE Hot 97.3 Toledo, is reaching out to National/Local companies, community groups, social/religious organizations, community members to help us in support of continuing research to find a cure for #MultipleSclerosis. To assist in this important goal we are sponsoring and operating an event in honor of one of the many fans of the #3M #MusicMatters song #SomebodySomewhere .

Heather Lynn Barnette was diagnosed with MS in 2012, for the past year she has been living positively with the disease and has sought ways in which to help further research. In May of 2014 she heard the song “Somebody Somewhere” and KNEW she has to do something. She reached out through social media to #3M and the #SomebodySomewhereFoundation and found a way to make a difference.

#HeatherBsVolleyballBeachParty4MS will be a #MultipleSclerosis fundraiser taking place the 20 August 2014 at the downtown #ToledoDocks. The Beach Party fundraiser will feature up to 20 Sponsored Volley Ball teams who will play for the first annual #HeatherBVolleyBall Trophy at the Toledo Sports & Social Club sand court located adjacent The Docks Toledo.

What we are seeking:
Community/Business sponsored teams:
• 5 Person Team Entry : $50 Donation
• Teams may also seek point sponsors to increase each teams overall donation

Business Sponsors may also assist with
• advertising sponsorship
• sponsorship of Teams or donations based on point Team score
• sponsorship of Reception event or activities

A reception for all the players, donors, sponsors and special guest will be held from 2 – 4pm at Forresters On The River. The reception will feature light appetizers, refreshments, cash bar and a myriad of entertainment to include a performance of #SomebodySomewhere by #3M artists J-360 and Sikosa.

About the #SomebodySomewhereFoundation:
The goal of the foundation is to establish a sense of #EmpathyOVERApathy within our communities. We seek to establish annual and bi-annual fundraising events in NW Ohio and SE Michigan and bring awareness to critical issues within our region

Description: Encountering God; What Ancient Practices Can Teach Us Today
How ancient practices can help us connect with God will be discussed at Lifetree Café.
The program, titled "Encountering God: What Ancient Practices Can Teach Us Today," features a short film depicting how various groups and individuals have tried to grow spiritually.
"Spirituality isn't new," says Lifetree national director Craig Cable. "There's a lot to learn from people who have come before us."
Lifetree participants will explore how ancient practices might benefit their own spiritual lives.
Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Snacks and beverages are available. Lifetree Café meets @The Eleanor Kahle Center 1315 Hillcrest Ave in West Toledo from 7-8 pm every Thursday. Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting.
