LeSo Gallery Presents: PRESSURE
Exhibition Card
Category: Art
Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Venue: LeSo Gallery
Location: Toledo
Address: 1527 Starr Avenue
Toledo, OH

Description: LeSo presents, PRESSURE, an exhibition of diverse works in contemporary print. This exhibition is curated by two working printmakers - Michael Weigman, MFA, and Ian Welch, Northern Illinois University MFA candidate. Works were chosen from a national pool of artists.

"The medium of traditional print is widely considered “dead tech” outside of the fine art world, as it requires a special commitment that differs from other art mediums. Those in our community take joy in traveling from print shop to print shop, keeping the faith and spreading the knowledge of these old traditions, while pushing them forward to be reborn in today’s contemporary art world. Each artist in this exhibition has used a form of traditional printmaking, such as intaglio, lithography, and screen-printing, yet experiments with them in a personal way that uniquely fits them into this diverse and exciting community."

- Michael Weigman & Ian Welch

Opening Reception: Friday July 11, 2014 from 7– 9pm

Gallery Hours: Following the opening, gallery hours will be Saturdays and Sundays 12:00 – 4:00pm.

Closing Reception/Artist Talk: Friday July 25, 2014 from 7– 9pm

Description: On Saturday, July 12, 2014 area golfers will hit the course at Bedford Hills Golf Club to spend the day enjoying one of their favorite hobbies and participating in a friendly competition. Komen for the Cure.

The event will include 18 holes of golf with cart, range balls, skins, a 50/50 raffle, prizes and more.

The cost is $300/team or $75/individual (if paid by 6/1/14; cost goes up $10/golfer thereafter) and there will be a men and a women’s category.

Registration starts at 7 am with a shotgun start at 8 am. Lunch and a silent auction will follow, and golfers will have the chance to bid on items like a trip to Orlando, autographed sports memorabilia and sports tickets, a basket of microbrew beers and a basket of wine and more.

This year, even non-golfers are invited to participate and help end breast cancer forever by enjoying 18 or 36 holes of Putt Putt at 10 am. The cost is $25 and includes lunch afterwards with the golfers. Children are welcome.

To register or get more information, please contact Melissa Cogar at 419-245-4712 or cogar_2008@yahoo.com. All of the net proceeds will be donated to the Northwest Ohio Affiliate of Susan G.
