Downtown Perrysburg Inc.'s First Friday - Back to School
Fire Twirling
Category: Family/Children
Time: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Venue: Downtown Perrysburg
Location: Perrysburg
Address: PO Box 83
Perrysburg, OH

Description: On September 4th from 6-9pm, join Downtown Perrysburg, Inc. for a “Back to School” themed First Friday. DPI has collaborated with schools and after school activities to provide a fun evening for all ages.
Mercy, the event’s presenting sponsor, will have its Life Flight ground unit on hand as well as the Mercy Kohl’s Kids in Action program that works to combat childhood obesity through fun activities and education.
Other event highlights include:
• A dunk tank staffed with Perrysburg Public Schools’ finest: Principal Chad Warnimont from Frank (6-6:30), Principal Brooke Price from Woodland (6:30-7), Counselor Jason Koval from Toth (7-7:30) and Second Grade teacher Andrew Evans from Frank (7:30-8)
• Learn to handle a lacrosse stick and take a few shots on goal with Perrysburg Youth Lacrosse
• Activities with Imagination Station to preview their new “MythBusters” exhibit coming to the science museum in mid-October
• Test out your World Cup skills with the Perrysburg Soccer Club as they track your kicking speed by radar gun
• Visit with live animals from The Toledo Zoo
• Measure how far you can shoot marshmallows and use catapults to hit a target with Inspirations Early Learning Center
• Practice your gymnastics skills on the beam, single bar, trampoline and more with Exceleration Gymnastics Center
• Have fun with a hula hoop at “Hoops with Sydney” hosted by LuluLemon
• Scavenger Hunt with downtown businesses
• A school bus to climb in and explore

The evening will also include live entertainment and special performances:
• Back by popular demand after a great performance in August, Wilson Lake and the Rock Bass will entertain throughout the night from 6-9pm. The group’s music focuses on a landscape of woods and water, where kids and adults hike, fish, swim, and explore a world of wonder outside the walls of their houses, TV's, and video games.
• At 6:45pm, music will break for a Back to School Fashion Show on the red carpet at Louisiana and Second hosted by Kids Klothesline.
• In addition to a meet and great from Laurel’s Princess Parties’ characters during the event, at 7:45 they will take the stage to perform. Join the Winter Friends (Kristov, Anna and the Snow Queen) singing your favorite songs from Frozen.
• To close the evening at 8:45, the fire spinners from Pyrolectric will light up the night with choreographed routines.

“We expect to close this year’s First Friday season with an evening jam packed with fun and unique activities that you just can’t find anywhere else,” said Sabrina Weaver, DPI President and First Friday Event Chair. “Thank you to Mercy for their financial support, without which an event like this would not be possible.”
The traditional activities you know and love will be available such as YMCA games, train ride, Chortie the clown, a Perrysburg fire truck and inflatables. In an effort to broaden the appeal of First Friday to a wider age range, DPI will also provide a Eurobungy ride free of charge. The Eurobungy allows participants to launch themselves up to 20 feet in the air held in safely by an acrobatic harness.
Vendors will line Louisiana Avenue and The Burg t-shirts will be on sale at the DPI booth for $10. Food will be available for purchase from Chick fil-A, Captain Daddy Dogs, and Jacky’s Depot, as well as the many fabulous eating establishments in downtown Perrysburg.
DPI is a community based 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to provide family events that showcase the community and contribute to the quality of life that makes Perrysburg the “Best Suburban Downtown”. DPI’s success is credited largely to its members, sponsors, and volunteers who lend their names and financial support to the organization and the many activities that they proudly present.
